FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What does the $70 fee cover?

A: If you register your child, the signup fee is $70.

This is paid online at the time of registration.

Your child will receive a HT Golf shirt and entry into the

CSAA City Championship, and this includes the cost of

the (4) clinics at Seneca Golf Course.

Q:  What grades are eligible for the Golf Program?

A:  The CSAA allows grades 5th – 8th to compete in the City Championship.

Q: What are the dates of the clinics?

A: The clinics are usually held on Tuesdays. Dates TBD.

Q: Who will be teaching the clinics?

A: Kevin Greenwell, who is a PGA Golf Professional, along with his assistant golf professionals Andrew Lardner and David Huffman will be the primary instructors. They will bring in additional help if needed.

Q: Does each clinic focus on one part of the game?

A: Yes. Subjects include irons, full swing, driving, and putting.

Q: Does my child need to have any previous golf experience?

A: No. Beginners are welcome. We will put the students into groups based on their experience levels.

Q: What if my child doesn’t have clubs?

A: They have plenty of clubs, balls and tees at the clinics for those who don’t have their own equipment.

Q: What is the attire?

A: Students are encouraged to wear collared shirts (golf or polo type), shorts or long pants.  No jeans please. Golf shoes or tennis shoes are fine. No football/soccer type cleats because they damage the greens.

Q: What if I want to set up private lessons or have any other questions about Seneca’s junior golf programs?

A: Call Seneca Golf Course at 458-9298 and ask for Kevin or Andrew or email them at golf@senecagc.com

Q: Are Seneca Golf Course’s facilities available to us on days other than the clinics?

A: Yes.  It is a public golf course.  Range tokens can be purchased for $2.00 for 35 balls.  Chipping and putting is always free of charge. You can find more info about their junior program on Seneca’s webpage at www.senecagc.com. Crescent Hill is another convenient course to Holy Trinity, although they do not have a practice range. Their phone number is 896-9193.

Q: How much does it cost to play a round of golf at Seneca or Crescent Hill?

A: Junior Fees are $9.00 on Weekdays and $16 on weekends.  If you child will be playing a lot of golf on metro parks courses, it is recommended to get a Junior Annual Pass for $90. With this pass, you will only need to pay $1.75 for each time you play.

Q: Other than the CSAA Championship, are there any other tournaments my child can play?

A: Yes.  The Metro Parks has a good tour for beginner/intermediate players.  The first event is TBD.  You can find more information or sign up at http://www.louisvilleky.gov/MetroParks/golf/tournaments.html. The Kentucky Golf Association www.kygolf.org and Musselmen Dunne Tour www.kjgf.com offer tournaments for the intermediate and advanced players.

Q: When is the CSAA City Championship?
A: The CSAA Golf Championship will be hosted one day for 5th – 8th graders (date and location TBD).  Each division and age group will be playing 9-hole competition. This is the same format that was used at last year’s championship. We are looking forward to a great day of golf as the school year comes to its end and the summer activities kick off.

Q: Will there be any matches during the season?

A: For the intermediate and more experience players, we will try and schedule some matches in the spring.  Most of these will be at Crescent Hill or Seneca. There is no CSAA League, so these will be arranged on a case-by-case basis with other schools.  Regardless of whether or not your child attends the clinics, he or she will be eligible to play in matches if they sign up for HT golf online.

Q: Who should I contact if I have any questions about the HT Golf program?

A:
